About

Originally from Germany (first Freiburg and later Frankfurt) i moved to London (UK) as part of my work for Thomson Reuters (or Thomson Financial as it was known back then). Over the years i moved on from Enterprise IT Architecture to Information Security where i gained experience in a variety of technical and managerial roles at Thomson Reuters, Perform Group, DAZN and QIAGEN. Please refer to my LinkedIn profile for more information. In 2019 I decided to move back to Germany, in no small parts due to the UK’s decision to leave the EU.

I managed to squeeze in some time to take up studies at the University of East London where i completed my MSc in Information Security & Forensics. After a short break i continued academic studies at UeL pursuing a Professional Doctorate in Information Security under the guidance of Dr. Preston. With the departure of Dr. Preston from the University and under the supervision of Dr. Bashroush i switched from the Professional Doctorate program to the Ph.D. path. I completed my degree in late 2018 with the thesis “Towards a Comprehensive Evidence-Based Approach For Information Security Value Assessment”.

I’ve been lucky enough to be able to help organising the first three Security B-Sides London events and assisted as Secretary for Security B-Sides UK Ltd. until 2013 when i had to step down due to other commitments. I continue to be a strong supporter of Security B-Sides of course (and so should you!).

If and when time allows i contribute articles, volunteer on advisory boards or speak on information security, privacy and data protection topics.

Other than that, i learned the benefits of physical exercise thanks to Lloyd Stevens at UP Fitness which served me well over the years as gym goer. More recently, i’ve decided to give Crossfit a try so you can find me at the Crossfit Solingen box a few times a week.
